YouTube supports moving a channel between owners when the channel is connected to a Brand Account. That is the route both parties should use; the specifics are documented by YouTube and Google, and their help pages are the authoritative source.
The shape of the process
- The channel needs to be linked to a Brand Account rather than sitting directly on a personal Google account.
- The seller invites the buyer's own Google account as a manager of that Brand Account.
- The buyer accepts the invitation and confirms they can access the channel.
- The seller transfers the primary-owner role to the buyer.
- Once the buyer holds primary ownership, remaining seller access is removed.
Timing and waiting periods
Google applies waiting periods to some role changes, so a transfer is rarely instant. Plan for it, and do not treat a delay as evidence of bad faith by itself.
What a transfer is not
Handing over a Google password, a recovery phone number, a recovery email or exported cookies is not an ownership transfer. It leaves the original account holder able to recover the account and it puts both parties in breach of Google's terms. ChannelHub does not ask for these and no buyer or seller should share them.
Confirm before closing
The buyer should confirm they hold the primary-owner role, can upload and edit, and can see channel settings and analytics before either side treats the deal as finished. Payment processing is not enabled on ChannelHub, so the parties agree payment timing between themselves — keep that timing tied to verified transfer milestones.
